Our Mission

We strive to honor God by making new disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world!

Our Vision

To be a family of Christians sharing God’s love through worship, service, and fellowship.

Our Church

Our church began as part of the East Pennsylvania Conference of the Evangelical Association with the first meetings in this community being held around 1831.  During this time early members gathered for worship in private homes.  Wiconisco’s Evangelical Congregation was incorporated July 31, 1875.

The original building for this congregation dated before the 1880’s but in 1884 the cornerstone for a new building was laid.

From the beginning, the circuit was altered periodically with Wiconisco being joined at various times with Lykens, Dayton, Reiner City, and Tower City.  Until 1987, they were continuously joined with one or more congregations except during the period 1892-93.

Continual growth in size and programs precipitated the need for a larger facility.  In 1926, a new church building was built around the old structure.

In 1968, a merger took place between the Evangelical United Brethren Church and the Methodist Church forming the current day United Methodist Church.  Calvary was joined with Wesley (in Wiconisco) UM church until 1987 when this union was dissolved and each church returned to its single charge status.
